At Hampshire County Council care leavers co-produce the local offer.

Care Leavers were consulted about the Local Offer updates in terms of content, language and the look/design of the local offer. Feedback for this was captured at Care Leaver events and from Personal Advisors who work with young people feeding back their thoughts. Going forward this will be reviewed with Hampshire Care Experienced Adults Council.

We have the Virtual College within Hampshire who work to support care leavers to access education, training and employment. We work closely with the DWP/Job Centres across Hampshire with whom we have a joint

working protocol for care leavers. The Virtual College Teamwork with a Cabinet Office initiative Going Forward into Employment and the Office of National Statistics who offer Internships specifically for Care Leavers which has been very successful.

Special Occasions

Hampshire County Council pays towards Christmas and other religious celebrations for care leavers

There will also be one £25 festivity allowance every year (to include Christmas, Eid or other such religious/cultural holidays). This could be in the form of gifts, vouchers, or money, depending on the wishes and circumstances of the young person. This will be paid up to the age of 21.

All Relevant and Former Relevant young people who are in regular contact should receive £50 for their 16th and 17th birthday, £100 for their 18th birthday, and £25 for their 19th, 20th and 21st birthdays.

Our aim is to Help Care Leavers to carefully consider the information they want, how to access it and how to understand it. Along with the emotional support needed to contextualise and process the information within their records.
