At Redcar and Cleveland Council all appren�ceships are sent to Children in Our Care and Leaving Care Teams 5 days prior to going out to advert to see if there are any suitable young people who would suit the appren�ceship. If the young person meets all the essen�al criteria a short work trial is arranged. This a good way to see if the young person likes the job and a good way for the employer to see the poten�al of the young person. If the work trial is a success the young person will then apply and be guaranteed an interview for the role.
We have a dedicated Careers Advisor that works specifically with CIOC / Care Leavers, support is offered around confidence building, employability skills and raising aspira�ons into EET.
