Our HR department have advised they do not keep statistics in relation to care experienced young people in apprenticeships – this has been flagged as an area for improvement.
Some care leavers have placements on the national kickstart programme, which offers work placements for young people. Numbers are not kept and again this is an area for improvement.

Details:
MCR pathways offer a programme for care experienced young people in schools, where they are mentored and involved in groupwork. . Volunteering matters also provide this service.
As part of an improvement plan, peer mentoring is due to be developed and we have discussed getting advice and working in partnership with MCR pathways to develop this service.
