Council Tax

Limited supported accommodation and third sector organisations have access to such a resource however it is very limited.

East Renfrewshire Council’s Youth Intensive Support Service have acted as a guarantor before for young people accessing student accommodation

This is dictated by circumstances of the young person and ensure local housing services have been exhausted

Setting up a home

Care leavers are provided with a setting up allowance

Allowance amount: £We pay on average £3000 for flat set up, however at times up to £4000

Access to care files

Young people have to go through the complaints dept to access their care files

Young people who access their care files get emotional support before, during and after disclosure
